Enrollment Process
Kern Learn Enrollment Process
Step 1: Referral Discussion
The process begins with the student’s home site counselor meeting with the student and family to discuss the student’s needs, goals, and whether the Kern Learn blended learning program would be a good fit. Academic, social, and scheduling considerations are reviewed during this meeting.
Step 2: Referral Submission
If it is determined that Kern Learn is an appropriate option, the home site counselor completes and submits a referral form to the Kern Learn counselors for further evaluation.
Step 3: Counselor Review
A Kern Learn counselor reviews the referral, student records, and goals. Based on this information, the counselor determines whether the student will participate in Kern Learn on a part-time or full-time basis.
Step 4: Onboarding Process
Once the enrollment plan (part-time or full-time) is decided, the student begins the Kern Learn Onboarding Process. This includes orientation activities designed to help students understand the blended learning model, technology use, program expectations, and available support resources
Step 5: Parent and Student Agreement
After the Onboarding process is completed, the Kern Learn counselor contacts the student and parent/guardian to review the expectations of the program. The parent and student must then sign the required Master Agreement to formally commit to participation in Kern Learn.
