Course Description

This online-based guidance experience teaches students a decision-making process that will help them envision and plan for a future that is productive, achievable, and stimulating. The course covers topics that support special education students to be successful in grade-level academic courses. The transition skills course supports special education students with the opportunity to receive additional instruction to assist them in their regular academic courses, and support in their educational plan that will create a pathway for the student to reach their career and academic goals. Critical thinking skills will be utilized through a systematic approach with development by examining values, interests, skills, personal self-management, decision-making, and goal-setting.

This course will help students acquire the skills necessary to successfully navigate their educational classes/life/work transitions: High school to College or Post-Secondary Training - Education to a Quality Workforce - Adolescence to Adulthood - Dependency to Self-Sufficiency.
